National Burrito Day was earlier this month, and we’re still riding that high at Los Primos. Burritos are one of the most popular items on our menu, which should come as no surprise to anyone who’s ever eaten a burrito, especially one of ours. Just because the official day has come and gone, that doesn’t mean we can’t keep celebrating!

Celebrate burritos with us at Los Primos! Here are three ways to show your love for these delicious little donkeys.

Make Your Own

If you can’t make it to your favorite Mexican restaurant to enjoy a burrito, it’s easy to make one at home. Cook up your favorite fillings, like chicken, ground beef, beans, and sauteed veggies, and top them with salsa or guacamole (or both!). All the essential ingredients you need for a great at-home burrito are easy to find at your local grocery store, and you may already have them in your fridge or pantry. Pro tip: Heat your tortillas in the microwave for a few seconds to keep them from tearing.

Try Something New

Although you can make a pretty good burrito at home, there’s nothing quite like an authentic Mexican meal from your favorite restaurant. Most of us have our go-to burrito fillings that we order, but why not try something new next time? Try our Burrito Trio, carnitas, or our Fajita Burrito. There are also plenty of other options on our menu, so be adventurous and try something you’ve never had before. You might just discover a new favorite!

Order a Chimichanga

Speaking of broadening your burrito horizons, treat yourself to a chimichanga! A chimichanga is a deep-fried burrito and the ultimate comfort food. It’s everything you love about a burrito but with a crispy fried exterior and topped with fresh lettuce, sour cream, guacamole, and melted cheese. Add a side of rice and beans, and you have the perfect combination of Mexican food to celebrate National Burrito Day.
